How to turn on Original Sound for Musicians in Zoom

When having an online lesson, it’s important to switch off the noise cancelling features in your meeting software so your teacher can hear your guitar properly!

Turning on “Original Sound for Musicians” is easy once it’s all set up, but it’s a little different on a PC or Mac, or on a phone or iPad.

On a phone or ipad

Setting up before your meeting:

1- Click more: Down the bottom right corner of the app, before you start a meeting, click the “More” button (It looks like 3 dots!)

2- Click “Meetings”: About halfway down the page is “Meetings”

3- Click “Use original Audio”: Make sure this option is switched on

During your meeting:

4- Head to “More”: Once you’ve started your meeting, down the bottom of the screen, on the far right, is the “More” button. (It looks like 3 dots)

5- Click “Enable original sound”: You’ll need to do this step each time you start your lesson. (But not steps 1-3!)

On a mac or pc

Setting up your meeting:
