Adam started guitar lessons at age 8 with Michelle Nelson, who taught him for thirteen years, guiding him through music examinations and general exploration of guitar styles. Adam’s musical tastes range from the classics such as Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Deep Purple, Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Guns N’ Roses to contemporary artists John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jack Johnson, The Beautifful Girls, The War On Drugs,Dope Lemon, Jason Isbell and more.

Adam is an active recording and performing guitarist and has been a regular on the gig circuit since 2010 (as soon as he was old enough to get into licensed venues!) His work as a session guitarist has seen him perform at such notable venues as Etihad Stadium, The Melbourne Recital Centre, The Metro Theatre (Sydney), The Albury Entertainment Centre, countless festivals, and The Channel 7 Morning Show.

Teaching full-time since 2014, Adam caters for all ages, contemporary music styles, and skill levels. Lessons are relaxed and enjoyable but with a strong focuses on developing secure technique and on the student's continued progress. He stresses the importance of being able to play a song right through, not just bits and pieces (something we feel very strongly about at MGT)and plays through most song material with the student!  Above all he aims to instill a love for guitar music in his students and to expand their appreciation of what is possible for them on the instrument.
